Pre-Kindergarten 4’s:

Our Pre-Kindergarten Room staff are dedicated to creating a nurturing, loving environment for your child.

Students enrolled in this class are learning what it means to be responsible and indepent at their own pace. Pre-Kindergarteners learn through hands on projects in small and large groups. Each child also gets individual attention from the teacher, throughout the week, in fifteen minute increments. In this way, our children are exposed to all teaching styles they may incounter in private and public school.

Academics focuses on four different areas: phonics, writing, math, and science. In phonics students get sight words to memorize and spell each week. Writing is all about correct formation of letters and numbers with a strong connection to phonics. Letter sounds straddle both areas since the students learn as they write. Number sense is an important aspect of math at King Solmon's. Its not just about the ability to recall facts, but the conceptual understanding of combining and separating numbers into groups for comparison. Students learn how to handle numbers in day to day life, not just the basics of addition and subtraction. Our students are scientifically inclined becuase they are always curious about finding answers. We always encourage the explorative nature our children with hands on demonstrations and experiments that teach children a lot about their world.

Our students bring the learning home with homework every night. Homework is always a simple assignment that allows our parents to make the connection between school and home. We want to make sure the importance of education is taught in the earliest stages to foster a love of life long learning.

Our program is committed to support school readiness and exceeds Virginia's Foundation Blocks for Learning, developed by the Virginia Department of Education.
