Academics

Christian Based Foundation:

First and foremost, King Solomon's Christian Academy is a Christian school. At our school, God comes first. Students base their moral values and character development on the Bible and God's word. Each week we center our faith based learning on a Bible story that students can relate to. Twice a week, we come together as a community to discuss our Bible stories and what they can teach us. We do this through songs, games, and projects which all reinforce Christian Values. Everyday begins and ends with Bible study so that our students know that they should be thankful for the day and that the day is not complete without God.

Academics:

Here at King Solomon's Christian Academy, families get the best of both worlds. Its not just fun and play, although there is a lot of that, its also about academics. Our school is always ahead of the curve because we never hold our students back. We have recently moved from the A BEKA Curriculum so that we may push the boundaries of learning each year. One academic year is just not enough for our eager learners and you will see that in each class, students are academically ahead of children their own age. It always surprises parents when they realize how much their children learn at our academy in one year.

Our new curriculum has roots in A BEKA, Creative Curriculum, Montessori, and High Scope. However, in the past few years, we have seen that not all children in one classroom fit the same learning style. With our mixed background we can assure that each child learns the way that is best for them. Students at King Solomon's Christian Academy are assessed three times a year so that parents and teachers can note progress and address the specific needs of each child. Goals are in place after the first week of school, but change as the children mature. Goals set at the beginning of the year may no longer be applicable after threes months and our curriculum has the flexibility to address a change and make sure students are constantly challenged and engaged.

Environment:

At King Solomon's Christian Academy there is so much to explore. Each classroom is created to interest children across all aspects of development. Our academy follows the Creative Curriculum approach in classroom layout to foster independence, creativity, and exploration. Classrooms, regardless of age, are separated into multiple centers that highlight specific aspects of development. In each area students are guided by teachers for short periods of time, to steer creative play into productive learning. Our teachers are always looking for ways to inspire students through hands on projects, physical activities, and goal oriented play. As the students play they also learn how to interact with their peers and teachers in a positive way.
